Amy Hudson

Dr. Amy Hudson earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Memorial University, followed by a master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Victoria, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from Memorial University. With over ten years of experience in collaborative, community-based research and education within Indigenous communities, Amy has built strong relationships and has been actively involved in recruiting and mentoring community research participants. She has contributed to publications on water and energy security, strengths-based sustainability planning, and Indigenous governance. Her work includes peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, a co-edited book, and research outputs for community and government audiences. Having spent decades in the not-for-profit sector and more than 11 years in research, governance, negotiation, strategic advisory, and academia, Amy founded Husky Consulting Inc., a boutique firm dedicated to helping communities, organizations, and governments develop effective governance practices and sustainable solutions together. Husky Consulting offers expertise in governance advisory, community planning and development, education and professional development, and research services. Originally from Black Tickle on the Island of Ponds, a remote community off the southeast coast of Labrador in NL, she now lives in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL. In her free time, Amy enjoys reading, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, boating, and travelling.
