We would like to congratulate Professor Maura Hanrahan on her publication in (press) Arctic and North.
The article is titled:
“‘Indefinitely on the Ice’: Indigenous-explorer relations in Robert Abram Bartlett’s Accounts of the Karluk Disaster.”
To the right is a picture of Kuraluk and Kiruk with their two children Helen and Mugpi. The Inupiat couple was hired to hunt and to sew winter clothes for the 1913 Karluk Expedition.
