EPI researchers Drs. Sondra Eger, Kelly Vodden and Amy Hudson together with other collaborators working on the Potable Water Dispensing Unit Project published a recent article in the Journal of Rural and Community Development. The article, “COVID-19 and Drinking Water Security in Rural, Remote and Indigenous Communities: the Role of Collaboration among Diverse Actors in Responding to a Global Pandemic,” analyzes how COVID-19 has further exacerbated water security and infrastructure challenges experienced by rural and remote Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Canada. EPI affiliated post doctoral fellow Dr. Brennan Lowery, along with 5 community change-makers also published an article in Gateway: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement. The article, titled “Harnessing the Power of Stories for Rural Sustainability: Reflections on Community-Based Research on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland,” explores storytelling as a way of giving community members a voice and challenging the top-down notions of rural sustainability.
