MAEP Students Attend Aldrich Interdisciplinary Conference

Students from the Environmental Policy Institute excelled in St. John’s while participating in the Aldrich Interdisciplinary Conference 2015, hosted by Memorial University and the Graduate Student Union. Graduate students from Grenfell Campus traveled to St. John’s from February 19-23, 2015 to present to colleagues and showcase their research in Environmental Policy in the  three conference categories: Teaching & Learning, Research Strategy and Public Engagement.

Ernest Nwanguma received an Honorable Mention in the Teaching and Learning stream for his research and presentation on climate change and it’s implications for Canada’s oil and gas industry.

Rebbecca Bruschett received an Honorable Mention in the Public Engagement stream for her research and presentation on applying GIS to assess cumulative environmental impacts on Newfoundland’s west coast.

Conor Edwards received the People’s Choice Award for his research and presentation on the human dimensions of wildlife management, and a proposed reintroduction of bison in the Netherlands.

Nick Mercer received First Place Overall in the Public Engagement Stream for his research and presentation on wind energy policy in Newfoundland and Labrador.
