Dr. Andreas Klinke was invited as expert for risk governance to the international expert workshop ‘Applying, Using and Developing further IRGC Concepts and Instruments for Risk Governance’ organized by the International Risk Governance Council (IRGC), hosted by the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Germany, in October. The purpose and objective the workshop was to facilitate a discussion among practitioners and researchers about how to implement risk governance and risk management. The workshop provided guidance to the IRGC to improve IRGC concepts and instruments for risk governance. The outcome of the workshop is a summary report highlighting main recommendations. The participants from the public sector and academia were from several European countries; Germany, UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, France, Denmark, Sweden), the European Union, the OECD, the USA, and Japan.
