Dipika Majumder is from Bangladesh and currently pursuing her thesis-based MA in Environmental Policy at Environmental Policy Institute (EPI) of Memorial University, Canada. She received Bachelor of Social Science and Master of Social Science degree in Economics from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Before coming to EPI, she worked as full-time faculty member at the Department of Economics in Jagannath University, Bangladesh since 2013, where she taught several economics related courses including macro economics and industrial economics.
Her research interests emphasize on environmental economics, environmental policy, consumers’ perception, traceability systems in fisheries sector and development economics. Her master’s thesis in environmental policy institute focuses on “Consumer’s perceptions of implementing traceability systems in farm-raised Atlantic salmon in Newfoundland and Labrador”. She has published three research articles in renowned peer-reviewed journals. She is looking forward to enhance her ability in research.
